3. Pharmacy & Regulatory Compliance
QuakerRx's Role as a Dispensing Pharmacy
QuakerRx is a licensed dispensing pharmacy, not a compounding pharmacy. We receive compounded medications from our independent pharmacy partners and dispense them to patients through their prescribing providers. All compounding is performed by the 503A and 503B facilities themselves — QuakerRx does not formulate, mix, or compound any products.
503A Compounding Pharmacies
503A compounding pharmacies are state-licensed facilities that compound medications for individual patients based on a valid prescription from a licensed prescriber. Medications compounded under Section 503A are not FDA-approved drug products and have not been evaluated for safety, efficacy, or quality by the FDA in the same manner as commercially manufactured drugs.
503B Outsourcing Facilities
503B outsourcing facilities are FDA-registered facilities that compound medications in larger quantities without patient-specific prescriptions. While these facilities register with the FDA and are subject to Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) requirements, their compounded products are still not FDA-approved drug products.
Compounded Medication Disclaimer
Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. The FDA has not verified the safety, effectiveness, or quality of compounded formulations. Patients and providers should understand that compounded medications carry different risk profiles than commercially manufactured and FDA-approved alternatives. All medical decisions regarding compounded medications must be made by a licensed healthcare provider.
4. Brand-Name Drug Non-Affiliation Disclaimer
QuakerRx references certain FDA-approved brand-name medications for informational context only. The following clarifications apply:
- Wegovy® and Ozempic® (semaglutide) are FDA-approved brand-name drugs exclusively manufactured and distributed by Novo Nordisk®. QuakerRx is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Novo Nordisk® or these products.
- Mounjaro® and Zepbound® (tirzepatide) are FDA-approved brand-name drugs exclusively manufactured and distributed by Eli Lilly and Company®. QuakerRx is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Eli Lilly and Company® or these products.
- Any compounded semaglutide, tirzepatide, or related formulations dispensed by QuakerRx through our pharmacy partners are distinct compounded preparations and are not the same as, nor interchangeable with, the above brand-name FDA-approved drugs.
- All other brand names, trademarks, and registered marks mentioned on this site are the property of their respective owners. No affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement is implied.
5. HIPAA Compliance

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, QuakerRx shall not be liable for:

8. Frequently Asked Questions
Is QuakerRx a compounding pharmacy?
No. QuakerRx (Quaker Community Pharmacy) is a licensed dispensing pharmacy. We do not compound, formulate, or manufacture medications. All compounded medications we dispense are prepared by independent, state-licensed 503A compounding pharmacies or FDA-registered 503B outsourcing facilities.
What is the difference between a 503A and 503B compounding pharmacy?
503A pharmacies are state-licensed and compound patient-specific prescriptions written by a licensed prescriber. 503B outsourcing facilities are FDA-registered, follow Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) standards, and may compound in larger quantities without patient-specific prescriptions. Neither produces FDA-approved drug products.
Are compounded medications FDA-approved?
No. Compounded medications — including compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide — are not FDA-approved. The FDA has not evaluated their safety, efficacy, or quality in the same manner as commercially manufactured brand-name drugs. All decisions about compounded therapy must be made by your licensed prescriber.
Does QuakerRx prescribe medications or provide telehealth?
No. QuakerRx does not write prescriptions, provide medical advice, diagnose conditions, or offer telehealth services. Prescriptions are issued by independent, licensed healthcare providers. We dispense medications based on those valid prescriptions.
Is QuakerRx affiliated with Novo Nordisk or Eli Lilly?
No. QuakerRx has no affiliation with, sponsorship by, or endorsement from Novo Nordisk® (manufacturer of Ozempic® and Wegovy®) or Eli Lilly and Company® (manufacturer of Mounjaro® and Zepbound®). Compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide preparations are distinct products and are not interchangeable with these FDA-approved brand-name drugs.
How does QuakerRx protect my health information?
QuakerRx maintains administrative, physical, and technical safeguards in accordance with HIPAA to protect Protected Health Information (PHI). See our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices for full details on how PHI is collected, used, disclosed, and secured.
